CALGARY, Alberta, Canada (October 28, 2011)—VistaVu Solutions, a leading provider of enterprise software solutions for the oil and gas services industry, has made feature improvements to its rentals module in FieldVu – its field management software for the oilfield services industry. The new features of the FieldVu module will make managing the rentals process of their clients’ businesses simpler and more streamlined than ever before.
Built to integrate seamlessly into SAP Business One, VistaVu developed FieldVu to manage the specific requirements of field service companies in the energy sector. The rentals module of FieldVu is dedicated to managing and tracking rental assets and equipment.
“We have expanded the existing rentals module to serve our clients better than ever before,” said Chris Chineme, Director of Implementations for VistaVu “Previously in FieldVu you were able to schedule labor and equipment associated with each job you were working on, and now we have expanded the capabilities of software to include materials tracking as well.”
Chineme said clients are also able to define a kit, meaning they can import equipment or materials from a predefined template that includes the equipment and components associated with the equipment, eliminating the need to enter components individually each time for a specific project. With this functionality, clients can define a parent item that is billable along with non-billable component for inventory management purposes.
“One of the key improvements we’ve made is the ability for users to create a plan for scheduling equipment and materials on a certain job,” Chineme said. “You can now check the availability of equipment and materials in real-time based on current inventory. You can even see what’s on order and what is scheduled to be coming due - all from one screen.”
VistaVu is committed to maintaining an open dialogue with clients to help maximize the value they’re getting from the SAP Business One and FieldVu applications. This process also helps to drive product feedback and feature requests back to VistaVu, which is used in their product planning process. Chineme said these changes to the FieldVu rentals module were made due to insightful feedback provided by some of VistaVu’s current clients. Some other highlights of the rentals module enhancements include:
- Overwriting pricing on equipment rentals
- One button import of scheduled rental equipment, personnel, and materials onto the Field Ticket
